The General Store

Every community had a General Store offering textiles, food items, and the children’s favorites: toys and candy!  General Stores were outlets for local farmers to sell items such as eggs, butter, maple sugar, meat and more.  Many of these stores were also the post offices of the early days.  Come scout out out history in the  pages that follow.
